About PDF to HTML

FreeToolr PDF to HTML turns selectable PDF text into a clean HTML page. It suits writers, developers, editors and anyone who needs web-ready text from a document. The tool detects larger text as headings, groups text into paragraphs, identifies lists, and keeps each PDF page as its own section. You can copy the result or download it as an .html file. The conversion runs in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded. Results download straight to your device. This approach gives you readable, flowing HTML instead of a fixed image of each page. It does not copy pictures, tables, columns or exact page positions. Scanned PDFs contain images rather than a usable text layer, so run OCR before conversion. Review the output before publishing, especially when the original PDF uses complex layouts.

Questions people ask

How do I convert a PDF to HTML?

Choose a PDF with selectable text and run the browser conversion. Then review the generated page and copy it or download the .html file.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Run OCR on the scanned PDF first. Without OCR, the file has no usable text layer, so the converter cannot reliably create headings, paragraphs or lists.

Does the HTML keep pictures and tables?

No. The tool converts the text layer only. Pictures, tables, columns and exact positions are not copied.

Will the HTML look exactly like the PDF?

No. The output uses flowing HTML with headings, paragraphs, lists and one section per page. Fonts, spacing, columns and page positions can change.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser, and files are never uploaded. The result downloads straight to your device.

Can I use the HTML on a website?

Yes, you can copy or download the generated HTML. Review its structure and content before publishing, especially for important documents.
