Troubleshooting Common Issues

Decoded text shows garbled characters.
Solution: The original was likely not UTFโ€‘8. Try interpreting the raw bytes as a different charset, or check if the source used a different encoding.
โ€œInvalid Base64โ€ error appears.
Solution: Remove spaces, newlines, or any character not in Aโ€‘Z, aโ€‘z, 0โ€‘9, +, /, =. Ensure length is a multiple of 4.
Encoding fails with emojis.
Solution: Our tool handles Unicode. If you see an error, ensure no hidden control characters are present. Reload the page and try again.
Nothing happens when I click Encode/Decode.
