About PowerPoint to PDF
PowerPoint to PDF converts .pptx and .ppsx presentations into PDF files without sending your deck to a server. It runs in your browser, processes the file on your device, and downloads the result directly. Your files are never uploaded. Use it for sharing slide decks, printing presentations, sending files by email, or viewing slides on devices without PowerPoint. The converter keeps slide order and uses the presentation's own size, including 16:9, 4:3, and custom dimensions. It redraws backgrounds, pictures, text, common shapes, and tables. It also supports optional speaker notes and can leave hidden slides out unless you choose them. This local approach avoids cloud storage and account prompts. It is a best-effort renderer, not a full PowerPoint replacement. Charts, SmartArt, effects, animations, and some fonts need special handling, so PowerPoint or LibreOffice remains better for an exact export.
How to use it
- 1Choose a .pptx or .ppsx presentation from your device.
- 2Choose whether to include speaker notes or hidden slides, if those options appear.
- 3Start the conversion and wait while the deck is rendered in your browser.
- 4Download the PDF directly to your device and check the pages before sharing.
Worked example
Input: a 10-slide .pptx presentation using a 16:9 layout. Result: one PDF file with 10 pages, in the same slide order and using the deck's 16:9 page size. Speaker notes appear on an extra page after each selected slide when enabled.
How it works
Best-effort PowerPoint to PDF: turns a .pptx or .ppsx deck into one PDF page per slide, in slide order, at the deck's own slide size (16:9, 4:3 or custom)Redraws slide backgrounds (solid colours, the first colour of a gradient, background pictures), pictures (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP and SVG, with cropping), text boxes and placeholders with the layout and master positions, font sizes, bold, italic, underline, colours including theme colours, alignment, bullets and numbering, line wrapping and shrink-to-fit, simple shapes (rectangles, rounded rectangles, ovals, lines and arrows, triangles and other basic shapes) with fill and outline, and tables as text gridsFonts are replaced with the standard PDF fonts Helvetica, Times or Courier, so line breaks can differ from PowerPoint, and only Western European letters can be shown (other scripts and emoji appear as ?)Not reproduced: charts and SmartArt (shown as labelled boxes), animations and transitions, video and audio (still picture only), embedded fonts, shadows, glow, 3D and WordArt effects, EMF and WMF pictures, and some theme detailsOptional speaker notes on a page after each slide; hidden slides are left out unless chosenOld .ppt files and password protected decks cannot be opened; up to 300 MBFor an exact copy, use Save as PDF in PowerPoint or LibreOfficeRuns in the browser: files are never uploadedResults download straight to the deviceSource: Microsoft Support: Save PowerPoint presentations as PDF filesECMA-376 Office Open XML standardISO 32000-2 PDF standard. What it is good for
- Keeps one PDF page for each slide, in slide order.
- Processes presentations in your browser without uploading files.
- Supports slide backgrounds, pictures, text, common shapes, tables, notes, and hidden-slide choices.
- This is a best-effort renderer. Charts, SmartArt, animations, media, effects, some images, and non-Western characters are not reproduced fully.
- Files must be .pptx or .ppsx and no larger than 300 MB. Old .ppt files and password protected decks cannot be opened.
Questions people ask
How do I convert PowerPoint to PDF?
Choose a .pptx or .ppsx file in the tool, select available notes or hidden-slide options, and start conversion. Download the PDF when rendering finishes.
Does each PowerPoint slide become one PDF page?
Yes. The tool creates one PDF page for each included slide. A 10-slide presentation creates a 10-page PDF, unless speaker notes add pages.
Can I convert PowerPoint to PDF without uploading the file?
Yes. FreeToolr runs in your browser, and files are never uploaded. The result downloads directly to your device.
Are speaker notes included in the PDF?
They can be included on a page after each slide when you choose the notes option. They are not part of the normal slide page.
Are hidden slides included?
Hidden slides are left out unless you choose to include them. Check the available option before starting the conversion.
Will the PDF look exactly like PowerPoint?
No. The tool uses Helvetica, Times, or Courier instead of embedded presentation fonts. Charts, SmartArt, animations, effects, some images, and non-Western characters may change or appear as labelled boxes or question marks.
Can I convert an old .ppt file or a password protected deck?
No. The tool accepts .pptx and .ppsx files up to 300 MB. Old .ppt files and password protected presentations cannot be opened.
